They are counter weights used on convertibles, most often called cocktail shakers. There are two sets of these, one in the front of the car and the other is in the rear. They are perfectly normal.

Keep them in the car..Helps keep it from sagging in the middle.

They are a vibration damper to cancel out unnecessary harmonics due to the converts body structure. GM tech a la 1967...
