Great!

Here is an edited version of an old Texas title scan that I emailed to Patrick...

One thing is the grille, maybe it is the pic but the grille center looks to be painted black, if so it should be plain anodised aluminum.

Just nitpicky things like that, still a gorgeous car. I am a Mopar OE judge so things jump out at me.

The R/T and T/A grilles were painted approximately semi-flat black (including the "egg-crate" center), and Base and SE models were Argent Silver... the picture looks spot-on to me...

That is not true. No 70 Challenger Grille "eggcrate center" ever left the factory black. Many people have painted them black incorrectly but it is not factory.

Charley,

Looks to be complete lack of factory undercoating in the front fender wells. Lower control arms are completly cosmolined, the arms were dipped by the manufacturer up to about before the date coded rivet. If you want to email me more detailed pics I'd be happy to offer my input.

is that hood just placed for giggles or is this a real N96 shaker hood car superceded by N94 T/A hood hemi challenger?

[/ QUOTE ]

That's a common misconception - the N94 was its own option.

The egg crates are anodized aluminum for all 1970 Challenger models - no paint.

Surrounds were black on R/T, R/T SE & T/A.

I think SE & Challenger base model surrounds were argent or astrotone.

I realize that, otherwise it would not have its own option code. But some guys ordered N96 and got N94 whether it was factory assembly line dyslexia, shaker shortage, or otheerwise, it happened. I've spoken to at least two guys who it happened to.

But that's a topic for elsewhere.

There was no Shaker shortage - that's an old wive's tale. The N94 was its own unique option.
