Help in identifying chrome air cleaner lidand base
I pick this up from a neighbors garage sale and it does not fit anything i have, i tried it on my chevelle that has a holley HP1000 carb and it does not fit and then my truck which has a quadrajet and it did not fit, i am not an expert when it comes to these stock GM parts, i like the old vintage speed equipment and thought this air cleaner was neat.
Seems like it has the stock inside diameter for the inside neck of the carb, it has some notch on the inside like it would fit around the carb and i have nothing like that to make it lock in. It has two rubber plugs in the base and a big tube that would hook up to a breather. Its from the 70s or 80s when he worked at the GM parts depot, its in excellent condition and as far i can tell never used or used very little, it came with some old AC filter that was yellow from age, i think the number was AC202 or AC212, 14 inch in diameter. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, jp |

Re: Help in identifying chrome air cleaner lidand base
Chevy open element style used on a variety of BB and SB cars...late 60's to early 70's.

Re: Help in identifying chrome air cleaner lidand base
The GM Holley carbs have the correct notches to fit that base but a lot of the aftermarket Holleys don't.
