Default 70-73 Camaro lower rear inner valance source???

Hello,
a friend of mine is restoring a 71 Z/28, and he needs the lower rear inner valance that attaches to the trunk floor and ties the rear subframe rails together.
He can find a listing for 67-69 and 74-77,and 78-81, but he can't find a reproduction for the 70-73's?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the resto is at a standstill until this piece is located, and he's on a short deadline. Rustfree used would work too.

Thanks for your time,
Tom Miller

I looked for a used one for over a year and never found one so we made one from scratch using the rusted original as a guide, also no one makes toeboards or inner rear wheelhouses so we fabbed up those also. I wish you luck.

I can't believe that the 70-73 isn't popular enough to warrant a reproduction, especially over the 74-77's or the dime-a-dozen 78-81's

Thanks guy's, keep them coming

Try Desert Valley Auto Wrecking in Phoenix, if they have one they will cut it out and ship it to you. They are the the cheapest but they typically come up with nice dry western sheet metal.
When doing my 71 I was lucky enough to have a panel that was could be saved. These things take a beating and are usually hacked up by the previous metal butchers trying to do bodywork.

Good luck

When I had my 72 Z that was the part that I looked for forever. No one makes a repop inner rear valance. Sorry to say you have to make it from scratch unless you can find a perfect donor car to take one from but how much is that gonna cost in labor? I am surprise we still have nothing from the repop arena. Hmmm...

This is a tough part to find and they are always rusted, I have made a few through the years or patched the rusted area.

Thanks guy's.
Look's like he either needs to get on the phone with a western salvage yard, or start fabricating. I guess it's up to the owner of the car as to how he wants his nickel spent.
Appreciate eveyones input on the subject.

Tom

Something to think about with the western salvage yard, in order to get the inner valance you either have to drill all the welds on the outer valance, trunk floor/drop offs and frame at $$$ per hour (and there are alot of spot welds) or bite the bullet and pay the big bucks and have them plasma cut it out which will trash the trunk floor/drop offs, rear frame and quarters and you will pay for it like you bought all those pieces. A good fabricator can make one of those in a day.
