Have you tried it on ceramic headers? I experienced this same problem over the past winter. Looks like blemishes, perhaps some sort of polish will work?

Most of the ceramic coated headers that I see on cars at shows are showing rust. Mine went the same way in the first year. When we bought our '69 Chevelle in 1997, it had the high heat black painted headers. Still on the car. Not as nice looking as ceramic coated but at least I can just take them off, blast them and repaint when they need it. I've never had to do it yet. Perhaps the aftermarket coating companies do a better job than what comes on the factory headers.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.

I agree on that. The factory coating that comes on Hooker Headers (it actually doubles their price) looks terrible after a short while. I'll stick with spray paint from now on.

My Hookers started rusting after about 2 years. I just had them JetHot coated.

Same thing happened to me. My hooker headers looked awful after the first year. I had them jet hot coated this past winter and they seem to be holding up. If I remeber correctly they even have a warranty form jethot. If you are going to buy ceramic headers I would by them from jethot. Then you at least get there warranty, hooker only gives you a year. Just my 2 cents

I had planned to buy new ones from Jet Hot but they had a very limited selection. Jet Hot warranties their coating for 3 years. It costs more than a new set of headers but if I bought new ones I would have to worry about them rusting in the next year or so. Jet Hot also coats the inside whereas Hooker doesn't. This will increase air flow and keeps the headers cooler.
