| Claimed COPO

I have been contacted about a possible hugger orange 4 speed, numbers matching original engine COPO for sale. It is supposedly a Nickey car, but it has a 3955270 block casting - however, the docs look real including a protec-to-plate. Has this car been discussed here and is it possible for there to be a Nickey COPO with this block casting number? |

I have previously talked with some members about Nickey having sold COPOs...everyone that I talked to seems to think no...and as I know of there is no documentation showing any COPOs sold through Nickey.

Nickey...the largest dealer in America and a Hi-Po Kingpin could only muster 10 COPOs...but yes Jeff, I agree and I have learned to never say never! I would be curios to see what the the build date on that car is if it has that casting block... That would be cool if one popped up!...you Chicago boys should chime in...

| Re: Claimed COPO

This car has what appears to be a window sticker with the 9561 ordered calling it a "high performance unit". But on the build sheet it has the L 78 engine option listed along the bottom where the options are listed, but it has an MN engine code in the engine code box and COPO tires and wheels were ordered. This is another thing that I can't figure out. Also, the build date of the car was 09D, so its an early car and the engine casting number might be correct - I just don't know and have never heard of a COPO with this engine casting number. |

The car is a fraud and so is all the paperwork presented to prove its Nickey and or COPO 9561 Status, let's not give this thread and this bogus car anymore publicity. There are currently no found Nickey 9561 L72s in the Nickey Registry. |
