Sorry Guys- Looks like I have to eat some crow...
I planned on taking a few shots of these heads to post here, so I cleaned a decade or two's worth of dust and grime off of the heads and discovered that the crossover passages had been filled with some type of material such as Devcon and then sealed with aluminum paint. Carb cleaner did the trick. So now I must apologise for my misleading claim that the passages didn't exist. I am still curious about the information on the CRG website that states that ZL-1 heads do not have exhaust heat crossover passages though. Is that correct or not ??? I attached a link to the CRG/COPO page in my previous posting if you would like to see it. I would still like to determine the history of these heads though. I will attach a few shots to show the markings. The Batten Heads logo was stamped so light that it is difficult to see in the photos. It was just about impossible to even do a rub. If you look real close you can see the logo above the #71201 in one photo. I have to get the angle just right to get that much. |

I'm looking quite foolish right now...
I'm not much of a nano-geek. I took these pics with a 8mp camera... I've had to edit/downsize these pics several times in order for them to download. Now it seems that I can only get one pic attached to this post and it's so damn small you can't see much detail. I'll throw in the towel at this point. ![]() Rick |
