Let me put my .02 in re: HBC springs. I have a Iron block/Iron Head COPO clone with Turbo 400. Hooker Headers, No smog........everything else normal, stock type parts.
Bought "correct coils and leafs from HBC.....you can see below that car sat too low, to the point that tires rubbed whl houses when turning. "We" then replaced the HBC springs with Ron Norman's springs and as you can SEE, the car sits a tad high. I drove car almost 1000 miles on three legs of 2005 HOT ROD Power Tour and also to/from Fred Gibb Show same year. Car never did settle down..... I still want the car to sit right. I've now heard that some people use a certain MOOG spring....or maybe it was Eaton. Maybe if I change it another 2 or 3 times I can find what I need?????
