I took tons of reference pics of the car when Paul had it at Vettefest. Tons of patina indeed.

Les,The car came with photos dated 1973 as Rick stated and the car looks the same today as it did then,a true time capsule. The owner I purchased the car from had a fiberglass liftoff hood but tied to the wall under a blanket was the original hood in original paint with the hood hinges in mint condition wrapped up with it.
Many people have seen this car and would swear just by looking at it it was the real deal. I had contacted a few previous owners and rick talked to a few and they all wondered what happened to the car but nobody followed up as the owner still lived in the same house and the car was in the garage in his backyard. I had even spoke with cecile vantyle, the owner of Van Chevrolet, but at his age and owning over 80 dealerships it was hard for him to remember much about the muscle car era of the 60's and 70's,but said he would try to put me in touch with his service advisor that worked at that dealership at that time but it never did happen. The only person we could never find was the original owner and never figured out how it got from Van Chevrolet to Bufallo Minnesota.

As I understand it, from what I've read over the past couple years, the question isn't whether the car is legit; the question is whether anyone wants to put up with the troubles that come along with owning a Dick Harrell car.

That car needs an owner that really wants to keep it and enjoy what it is. If you look long and hard enough I bet something will turn up about its racing says and its street racing folklore. A survivor car!!!

Would Valerie Harrell be able to document this with original Dealer paperwork? Has anyone tried that route yet? From another post here, it seems she has some original stuff for some of the Harrell cars.

I initially disclosed this car to Dennis Hartweg when it was originally located and with what he knew at the time gave me a very good feeling as to it's authenticity. I also contacted Valerie but at that time she could not help. I do not know if anyway has talked to her since then but that might be worth checking out if she were willing.

There are no issues with regard to the Harrell name on this car as Dick Harrell built it and the family has acknowledged that. I even received a very nice note from Dale Pulde about the car when he referred it to a friend of his who may have been interested in purchasing it. There is no dispute with the family about the authenticity of this car. Thank you.

I have the photos from 1973 showing a guy with long hair at the wheel and the front end off the ground. Looks like he is doing a launch in a parking lot or something. Hard to believe it is a wheel stand because the front end is quite high for a launch of a street car, but maybe with 4.88's and slicks? The car has also been discussed on the Dick Harrell website forum after I listed it for sale. Valerie, Dale and others that know the car there all made very favorable comments and all agreed it is a real car. The car is a true, unmolested survivor. I own a handful of cars and would love to keep this but have been putting money into my business lately and have made some other investments, so after 3 years of owning this legend, I am sad to see it moving it, hopefully to another great collector or enthusiast. The reaction that this car brings at shows among people that know who Dick Harrell was is astounding! The economy will recover and prices will rise again, but right now at this price, the car is a steal. I am also very thankful for the connections/friendships I have made through owning this car with gentleman such as Rick Nelson and others. Rick convinced me to trailer this car 36 hours straight from Seattle to Chicago last year!
