Motion Valve covers are by far much more common than the Yenko covers

Not at my house they aren't. I have a closet full of NOS chrome plated ones in sealed boxes. The bad thing about these is they won't fit a Camaro or Nova with power brakes unless you severely modify them. If they are the plain stamped steel variety (non-chromed) I would say an even swap for a pair of real finned aluminum Motion covers would be more than fair.

If they don't fit Camaro or Nova, did ol' Don just sell them for Chevelle?

Actually Don didn't sell 'em for any of those... they were made in the mid 70's about the same time they made the Yenko ZL1 blocks... mainly with racing in mind. They weren't available in 69.

I think they were made for Marine applications.

That's interesting,as I recently visited a friend who lives near the Chain O'Lakes here in Il.
I saw two BB engines beat to hell, laying in an enjoining yard with those valve covers on them.

They probably came out of an original ZL-1 and were sold for racing in a boat so they could sell the cars at the end of the year

were they floating up in a river next to a hemi??

...but Joe, can you post a pic of the valve covers you are talking about?? I would think a set of real Motion covers would be worth a bit more than later Yenko covers that wont fit a Camaro anyway..Thanks max
