That looks absolutely superb to me When I got my car, it still had the original gaskets on the valve covers, and they were a silver color. One of the repro vendors actually sells them that way, but I don't remember which one. Not sure if it was originally some type of adhesive/sealant or what, but there had to be some reason for it to be on there. Since cork is not naturally silver in color, that meant an additional step (read: $$$) in the mfg process.
