It was pretty common around here. IA. Guys wanted a 396, but found they couldn't afford the insurance, dad thought that a 396 was to much hp, etc. So they ordered a Malibu 350 4 spd. Put on headers, mags, big tires, and were happy beating the heck outta what they had. Some were even pretty quick, and beat a few 325 hp 396s.
