I WANT TO THANK EVERY ONE FOR PROVIDING ME WITH SOME VALUABLE INFORMATION. I WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS SOME COMMENTS.ABOUT BACKING OUT OF A AGREED DEAL IF THE CAR IS NOT WHAT THE SELLER ADVERTISES IT TO BE THEN YOU CAN BACK OUT. IF THE CAR HAS BEEN FLASELY ADVERTISED. I DO NOT CLAIM TO KNOW ALL THERE IS TO LS6 CHEVELLES I AM JUST AN AVERAGE GUY TRYING TO MAKE A WISE CHOICE, AND YES MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE ASKED THESE QUESTIONS BEFOR HAND. BUT MY WORK SCHEDUAL WOULD NOT LET GET TO THE COMPUTER. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANY ONE CAN OFFER SOME POINTERS ON WHERE ANOTHER BUILD SHEET MAY BE LOCATED. AND IS IT POSSIABLE THAT THE AT BUILD SHEET IS FOR THAT CAR BUT WITH THE CAR VIN # NOT BEING ON IT WHAT OTHER SIGHNS SHOULD I BE LOOKING FOR IN THE BUILD SHHET TO HELP AUTHICATE IT THE CAR. I KNOW WHERE TO CHECK FOR THE VIN ON THE TRANS AND PLAN ON ASKING HIM TO WIPE AWAY THE GREASE TO LOOK FOR IT AN I KNOW WHERE TO CHECK FOR THE AXLE TUBE CODE. AND IT LOOKS LIKE IN THE CAR CURRENT STATE THAT NO ONE HAS MESSED WITH THE DASH SO I THINK IT HAS NOT BEEM APART,AND IT HAS THE RIGHT TAC PLEASE ADVISE ME ON ANY OTHER THINGS TO LOOK FOR. AND YES I WILL TRADE IT FOR A BLACK CAR IN THE SAME COND OR BETTER AND WOULD BE WILLING TO PAY MORE FOR A BETTER COND BLACK CAR. THANKS FOR YOU GUYS HELPING AND COMENTS NON HAVE BEEN TAKEN WITH DISRESPECT. I WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO THE 427 KING AS HE SEEMS TO HAVE QUITE ABIT ON KNOWLEDGE THAT COULD HELP, AND ANY TIME THAT THE SELLER AND I COULD NOT FINALAZE A DEAL I HAVE ALWAYS PAID FOR HIS RELISTING FEE.

If the seller will allow you to not complete the transaction I would go that way. Without a build sheet with the vin or other docs. and NOM you'll never recoup the restoration cost.
If you pay for the car and don't find another build sheet with the vin then I think you should take your lumps and flip the car.
Be patient, there are other project cars avalable with docs.,but be willing to spend 50K for one.

I dont understand why alot of people think its ok to win a car and then inspect it and ask questions later deciding if they want to complete the transaction. Yet when a seller opts to sell to a higher bidder after the auction or decide to keep the car, hed get lambasted by everyone that read the post. Kind of a double standard dont you think?? Unfortunately in this case the buyer couldnt post the auction info on any public site before the auction ended for fear hed warn a few potential bidders, which makes it difficult.

Rick,i was actually talking to this guy about this car and passed as he was not sure about the trans or rear and sounded like he had the car apart and had recovered the seats and there was not any other paperwork. Les,i hope he told you this when you spoke with him about the car. There could be buildsheets behind the front fenders but that would probably be the only place left. I to went through wisconsin just yesterday and had i known that you purchased this car i could have stopped as well.

Sorry Les, I did not realize this was the same car that Chad had mentioned to me a while ago. Based on that conversation and other comments I would also consider passing if another sheet cannot be produced from that car to prove it's heritage. It would appear as thought the car has not been very far apart and if that is the case there really should be other sheets in the car. If not I would be rather concerned.

As far as the tach, door panels and some other items being good indicators of an LS-6, if I had $5 for every car that Chad and I looked at over the past several years that fit that scenario but turned out to be bogus I would have his fuel costs covered. I would honestly say 80% of the cars he and I looked at turned out to be fake and this was 3 or more years ago. When you can sell a car for twice the money because of supposed LS-6 heritage people will go to great lengths to fake them.
