With all candor that car needs the full monte.I would guess with a proper restoration you will be in the car 100k,and it still won't have the original motor. For that price you can find a respectable black done one like this tribute car for prolly around 85k.

If you had only posted this question a few days before the auction had ended..Rick frequents the site and it is (relatively)in his neck of the woods..I would bet money he or Chad know of(or have touched)the car.Looks it never left the general area.

Hi Les,
Glad to see you made it to the site! Looks like a nice car to restore, nice colors, buckets, 4 speed and all of the small hard to find parts. All of these help the car to be worth more $ when complete.
On the negative side, NOM motor and the buildsheet has all of the important stuff missing, like VIN and Body number. Do we KNOW that this car belongs to this buildsheet? Some of the guys here know these buidsheets pretty well and I am sure someone with more info than me will chime in.

Keep me updated!

Rich

Hello Les,
Congrats on your purchase. I do not know of this car off hand but will check the VIN against my records. If you can get me the cowl information that would be helpful.

I think what you paid is in line with what the value would be ( IF... in fact it is an LS-6) and in it's current condition but as Mark said, plan on sinking some serious money into it. The body appears to be in very rough shape and likely some of the key parts are missing especially under the hood. The body appears to need just about everything save for a hood and roof which will set you back another $15-20k. As usual, only one photo of the engine compartment are shown so I am not sure what condition that is in. Also, to put a complete LS-6 engine between the fenders will set you back at least $15k when it is all said and done.

Being that it is a Leed's car, I would bet there are at least a couple of more build sheets in the car and would not sleep comfortably until at least on complete sheet is found. There is nothing on the sheet that is posted to tie it to the car in the photos so as far as I am concerned, it is just an SS Chevelle until proven with a sheet. In todays world people will go to great lengths to fake a car like this though I am in no way saying that is what is taking place here just pointing out the facts.

Had I known about this I could have made a slight detour on my way home from the Gibb Reunion last weekend and looked at the car. As of right now I have no available time. However, there are a couple of people in the Northern, Il and Wisconsin area that may be able to help. You might even try Gary Thurlow as he is relatively close.

Get me some more information and I will help you wherever I can as far as authenticating the car. Talk to me off line and I will help you with regards to some more information.
Rick

-------If this Chevelle isnt an LS6 its a pretty darn complete clone. Correct door-panels and several other small things make a compelling case for its authenticity. Can anyone tell me what the yellow thingy is bolted to the frame in the one pic????........Bill S
