Jeff;
Yes, I have seen it done at Vette-Fest, 1point for the coating and 1point for having Hooker Headers instead of the Thorleys.

Personally, I have the manifolds and smog system installed, but want the headers for certain shows. It is pretty tough to document that headers (or Atlas wheels) came on any of the deuces, we don't know of any. However, the judges at vette-fest and AACA allow them, so I bought some.

I'm sure the orig. headers lost their paint pretty quickly, and 'rusty' headers might be correct for a survivor car. A full resto car should look like it did on day one (or day two), and should not have old looking headers. Therefore, use today's technology to make them look like they did back in the day.

The middle decal is the closest but I'm not sure. I will keep a lookout for an old pic. I thought it said Thorley Headers on the decal.
Also what part # did you come up with on the Accel distributor?

I've seen the old Thorley headers had a decal down low by the collector. I think it was a black & white decal. Old style Doug Thorley decals are on ebay every so often-same one they used on the header. Like you said it would probably burn off pretty quickly. I made up a display board out of a inexpensive picture frame(Walmart special) that has a glass covering and placed a period correct decal for every speed part that is used on my car under the glass. Used print board from a art frame shop as a background. A nice thing about this method is I can add decals or move them around because the backing on each decal is not removed. Plan to display it along the car. You could do this with your Yenko paperwork, photos etc.

Carl,

Did you go through Doug's Headers (owned by Doug Thorley) or Thorley's Headers (Doug sold to partner)? Here are the respective web sites. www.dougsheaders.com and www.thorleyheaders.com

Would the headers be more correct from Thorleys since that is the orig business tha provided them back in the day? Or more correct from Doug's because Doug Thorley is the owner?

Edit: Sorry your link to the stickers kinda answers which shop you are dealing with.

My wife called to inquire as to what 'headers' are, since they just showed up at the house.

Don't know what's going on with Carl's set, might be a problem with Thorley Headers. They only advertised Tri-Y headers for my application, but that wasn't what Yenko was advertising. When they finally were able to tell me the item # for their non tri-y's a week later, I was already ordering them from Doug's. Thorley told me to call Summit or J.C. Whitney to place an order! Doug's let me do it over the phone or through their website. They better fit like a glove, since that's their claim to fame.
