This car was done in the early 90s in Florida. It was at the 1996 Orlando World Street finals. Its an 820 HP pump gas 540 CI. 11:1 compression, BMF 355 heads, .725 Lunati solid roller, Edelbrock cnc Super Victor, 1250 Pro Systems carb, 1:80 gear set powerglide, 12 bolt with 3:89 pro gears. Car had been as fast as 8.29 before I owned it. Ran 9.50s @ 142 just the way it sits and I could have driven it to the track.

I remember Joe Scotts car back at the NHRA division 1 race here at NED and all the SS's Z28s all with speedminders, endura bumpers, hounds tooth interiors at the racetrack in the 70s. It was just a haven for those cars. There is 1 1969 Daytona Yellow SS RS 396 original paint tubbed out super stock car still around here.

Billy Nees bought 2 of Joe's Camaros. A 67 and a 69. The 67 is still in Snyder county being restored. The 69 Pace Car got cut up for a Super Gas car

No. I was offered the 67 and turned it down at the time. DUMB. Billy told me the 69 is long gone. All he remembered was it got cut up for a Super Gas car. That was Joe's championship car. He lives close and raced at my home track. The 67 is now owned by Dave Miller of New Berlin. He is a gun salesman. Last I talked to Dave the car was not done. When I looked at it at Billys shop it sat out for years with no center section and the acid dipped front end was all rusty from setting out. You could still see Joe's numbers on the windows. I have one picture of that car in an old Super Stock. Joe has some cars GM gave him he had been trying to sell last I heard.

Back in the 80's, a friend of mine and his brother built a ISCA Camaro-showcar for serious ISCA competition. It was candy-cranberry colored, back-halved, tubbed, dana 60, cage, full-on custom/chrome everything...with a blown big-block Chevy. I remember him wanting a perfect body to start with, and they found a mint DZ car. They stripped and sold all the original stuff for peanuts.
