Wasn't there a series of Pace Car look alikes built that summer as parade cars / track cars for the Canadian market of a Road racing series if I'm not mistaken ?
Not actual pace cars... but built with almost any engine/ trans combos, base or rs or ss packages... In Muscle Car Review or Hemmings Muscle I saw something of this a few years back.....jmho

The Canadian market cars were 0-1 cars but built not for IMS but for the Players Challenge GP race at Mosport.
Here is an ad for one for sale after the race at Gorries. |
