Did you miss the 409/425 that's in the 38 Chevy Verne?.

Being a roadster, that Gran Sport would be #001 or #002..
And another good investment at $4500...valued more like 4.5 mil now?.

As a side note to the GS stuff, I wonder what ever happened to that alum. SB that had 'Super' or something cast into it and someone was seeking info on here close to a couple years back...remember that one Verne?. Who knows if the post was genuine but I've always wondered since if the original SB's from the GS's and the XP819 had this cast into it?.

Great thread Bill...it'll probably become a long one like the Rotting Muscle and Aircraft ones!.

A few key examples could become a standard page we can print off and lay on the girls when they question our wisdom of buying more cars...that GS for 'Vette purchases etc?.

I didn't miss the '09 in the coupe Pete. I love reading those old ads, like the '63 Z-11 at the end of the '64 season for $3K. Heck, I was 14 at the time and lucky if I had 3 DOLLARS in my pocket! Today's market value for these great cars and my pocket are still at about the same ratio!

Verne

I do rememebr a thread about a block with "super" on it (supposedly) but it never ran it's course to some ending of understanding. I don't know what those early blocks had on them. I've never seen one up close (only a couple in cars and I had to stand behind ropes)

What year was the GS Corvette ad from. The 15 s newtown st address was Penske's first race shop in Newtown Sq. , Pa. I believe he moved to the larger winding way location (also in newtown Sq.)in 1966 or early 67.

GS ad definitely came from a '66 or '67 HRM but they're already back in the stack so I'm not exactly sure.

("Definitely but not exactly" came from my pre-law class in college...)

They weren't all Fords.

Okay, back to Fords.

Channeled Deuce.

Show car A four-door.

Just another (ho-hum) '35 Cabriolet.

Looks like the famous Bob McCoy flamed sedan.

Sick of '40s yet???

Here's a wooden one.

Post-war soft-top Lincolns are probably not cheap these days.

Nicely raked Olds.

'53 Merc street/drag machine.

Fabulous Hudson Hornet!

Want folks to see your ad? Put your girl in it!

Stude custom parked in front of Larry Watson's SoCal paint shop.

Oooh, a Cameo...

Buick nailhead. Do people still build show engines?
