Default Re: Bellhousing casting numbers

Andy,
Make sure the front bearing retainer on the transmission seats securely into the large alignment hole in the bellhousing. I seem to remember the truck bellhousings have a larger hole. If it does not, the transmission will not be properly aligned with the crank centerline when installed.
This will cause problems with the clutch and possibly damage the internal gears.
I think the car 11" bells are #421/444/621/& 797.
Check with CRASH, he should be able to help you.
