Now that the 66 is finished up, I am able to circle back around for the next phase on the 62. My Dad has been driving this thing ALL OVER the place! I'm really glad to see him enjoy himself the way he has been with this car. So, more cleaning is in order, along with a small punch list of items. This car has been deemed a keeper by both of us and the car will not be judged. So, there will be a few decisions made that are a departure from what I may normally do.

A green battery in a car like this is an absolute no.......

The plug wires were parts store type Delco's. They usually have enough slack in them to wrap it around the driveshaft. In this case here, I'll build the correct length 7mm wires from Pertronix.

Disassembly for cleaning and detailing......

Nice! I’m cleaning up the same stuff on my dad’s ‘61. I did buy the Delco 508N and they seemed to fit well although I’m not a huge fan of the factory wire routing for the front four cylinders. Can you post the length of each wire that you’re shooting for?

I have a sheet that details the length for each wire Tony. I'll post it up tomorrow

Are the C2 & C2 wire measurements the same? If so, I have it printed out on my bench and can post it up as well.

The later C1's are routed the same as the C2's

I found my notes, but now I am not sure if these are the factory lengths or not. What I had written down is "Standard lengths are the same as FLAPS/Mexico Delco 508N".

In any event, I have made the Pertronix 7mm wires to these lengths for at least 2 C2 small blocks and it seemed just right to me--

# 1,2,3 @ 49". # 4 @ 45". # 5 & 6 @ 32". # 7 @ 28". # 8 @ 26"

Tim, the wires on the white 63 you bought were GM/Packard wires I had around for years and were these lengths and installed shortly before you bought it.
