Is this a 1967' 302 engine?
My buddy just pulled a small block out of a 57' 210 coupe that he pulled out of a cow pasture. The block & head numbers show to be a 1967 302 or 327 with 2.02 intakes & 1.6 rockers. Is there any way to tell if this was a Z-28 powerplant or did it come from a Corvette?

Take a quick glance and see if it has the very large, High Perf Harmonic Balancer.

Re: Is this a 1967' 302 engine?
Block is 3892657, heads 3890462 w / D 2 67 casting date? deck pad VO428HC? I'm not a small block guy and none of these #'s are familiar at all to me. I was just looking for some correct heads on my original block, 327 Camaro.

Re: Is this a 1967' 302 engine?
is there a partial VIN stamped on the engine pad?
no HC Engine code for 67/8/9 Camaros and I dont see any HC code for vettes either, could it be HO? 67 Z would have MO or MP engine code not HC 3892657....302.....67....2...Z-28 Camaro 3892657....327.....67....2 3892657....350.....67....2...Camaro 3890462....66-67...302/327/350..Camel hump,no accessory holes,64cc chamber

He's going to re-check the deck stamping, the balancer, and the pad on the tranny also. They are double hump heads.
Thanks, Steve

Re: Is this a 1967' 302 engine?
That is what I was thinking it would be. The heads having 2.02 valves it what threw me. I imagine hey were going by casting numbers only. Those heads can have 1.94 or 2.02 valves.

Re: Is this a 1967' 302 engine?
If you car is a 327 275 then they would be the correct heads. If it is a 327 210 then it would have the lower hp heads.
