I sent the original smog tubes from my COPO to Mike Gibbons at Brake Boosters/Detail Plating. He plated them black zinc which produced the greenish color. They passed Legends judging without deduction.

JJR, Ive read about Black Zinc , so Im glad to read that's what you had done....
If you look at other Clear Zinc and Yellow Zinc on your Restoration the zinc plating has a brightner applied over the zinc.......... Hard to tell but I'm guessing your smog trees are not to shiny, so maybe no brightner ???? Can you find out ..........Thanks

Apparently their is ACID Zinc Plating & ALKALINE Zinc Plating
They are quite different (GOOGLE) with different finish "looks" Anyone reading this have experience/knowledge on what kind of Zinc Plating looks correct for the smog "trees"
