Default 71 Malibu LS3/402 Sleeper- Orig Owner

Dennis O'Berg ordered this sleeper new. It's outward appearance is unassuming (sans stripes & cowl hood), however a look under the hood and interior floor mounted shifter, tells a different story. Although the engine script indicates 400ci, which was a designation for a small block, the 402 LS3 big block breathes beneath the hood. Congratulations to Dennis for preserving and enjoying the car for almost 50 years!!!

Very nice! I recall that our local Chevy dealer back in the day, Ed Fanning in Aurora, IL, had several similarly equipped (minus the a/c) in stock.

'

Note '71 side script has 400 Malibu but '72 w/ Malibu 400.
Both such cool cars, especially for what was still available @ the end of the musclecar era.

Both years shared the same nomenclature reading left to right.
MALIBU 400 on the drivers side fender & 400 MALIBU on the Passenger side fender.
