Yes, that is inside the trunk, and I agree with you. However, this is a very early car LA built car, supposed to be original paint car but have never seen those installed upside down like that....

That tach could be right. It's documented early 65 L79 tach's had the low hp redline. I don't what vin was last reported with this tach.

Yes it looks like a Corvette headlight motor, agree. The case is spot welded from the factory so have not opened it up.
