Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

There is no before picture to compare it to. I took the car in to them to do the complete body and paint. I have a mechanic that did all of the other work before for other reasons and can attest to...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

I know it's long, but it's hard to document something and get your point across and outline all of the relevant details to get that point across, but I was able to get the images small, so the entire...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

With all of the issues, it's incredibly difficult to chose only 10 or 15 pictures, and I don't want a huge page. I'll likely have a summary of the issues and try and cover everything in a couple of...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

Well, the car is in worse condition than I thought. I found chips showing rust underneath, and the paint came right off when I flicked it with my finger. I found another area that was down to the...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

That reminds me, I forgot to mention that a good portion of the swirls did come out when he did the final detail, but a good amount of them remained (especially the deep straight one's when someone...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

Well, this wasn't about the paint not being exactly as promised, it's that its got too many problems to even try and list here. I should have legal recourse, because I didn't have a choice -- they...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

I figured I should post an update. I picked up the car about two or so hours ago. I ended up just taking the car and not paying the balance and they agreed (but I'm still in a bad spot, as good as...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

Thanks, that's pretty much the type of stuff my father was rattling off on the phone just by what I was saying (before he has seen it) and it was too much for me to commit to memory, and involved...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

Yeah, that's the thing, I don't know if the guy just used compound and tried to buff out the scratches, or if he actually color sanded before buffing (at least depending on the depth of the scratch)....

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

Exactly, if he didn't do a good job the first time, second or third, let alone have the respect, caring or capacity to even "recognize" the problem that existed when I looked at it, I don't have...

Re: Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to

1randy, prep the clear on it now and paint over it, and then apply more clear on top? I'm not sure how that works. I used to work in my father's body shop, but I only did prep work, detailing,...

Newly painted w/ scratches and swirls. What to do?

I've got a '67 RS convertible that I've done the engine/trans/rear on, and took it to a body shop for the body and paint and interior. Now, it's almost done and I have a problem, and I'm trying to...

Hello again,

I'm looking for a black w/ white stripes deluxe interior for a '67 RS convertible Camaro. Is there any best source to obtain this from (I need all the interior, from sun visors to...

'67 Camaro convertible top: 32 or 38 ounce?

Hi,

I'm looking for a top for a 1967 RS convertible Camaro, and I'm probably wanting the glass window instead of the correct plastic window (I don't like the idea of the plastic window degrading...

Re: A.J. Foyt's 1967 pace car on e-bay

[ QUOTE ]
Not a problem. That Z10 got sold to a guy in Texas. Did you know another guy in the Redding area that owned a roofing company (I think). I bought a 1967 R/S Z/28 from him that ended up in...

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!

My brother had his car stolen once from some maniac that was harassing our family, years ago, and the moron pushed it into the river.

The police found it and told him he's lucky they didn't decide...

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!

I saw a quick blurb that the property is included, and that was about all I saw. Maybe that was removed since. The EPA would probably nail you with a cleanup for all the oil that soaked into the...

Re: Sending cash in the mail

The point is, there's absolutely no legitimate reason to send cash via mail. So, there's no need to ask the question. Anyone can cash a money order or cashier's check.

If it's a small amount and...

Re: Great Parts Sale on eBay!

While some stuff would be worth money (I'm sure more than some), there's a lot of junk there. I don't see how they expect $2M for this lot of parts. They're dreaming. It would cost enough just to...

Re: COPO Camaro

I somehow don't see a brand new, shiny trim tag being a good sign.

Re: 69 Z28 Daytona Yellow Original paint

I asked them a few questions about the car, and they only replied with "interior needs to be redone no rust thankyou". This didn't help much. :-)

Re: 69 Z28 Daytona Yellow Original paint

I don't bother to look at eBay much, so thanks for the post. I've inquired to the seller further to get more information.

Re: 67 or 68 Z28 wanted

Thanks for the information. Is this numbers matching? I don't mind it needing paint. Is it registered or titled in the states now? Sorry for all the questions. I wasn't looking right now for a...

Yeah, I was joking a little (sarcasm) about the doctored one. Still funny though.
