1968 Baldin-Motion SS 427 at the Detroit Concours d'Elegance

Turn up the speakers... L-88 Phase 3 was neat on the street uncorked...

Sounds even better at the track. Just wish whoever convinced him to restore/repaint the car would have kept their mouth shut. But that’s the preservationist in me.. :burnout:

I 100% agree

I know there are several clones out there. Are you referring to the same car?

It’s a documented 10,000 mile car with one color coat repaint with a dimensional match to the motion stripe configuration.

Yes same car I took the track video. restore/repaint (corrected above). Either way I personally wished it was kept unrestored/original. Would love to see photos of it before repaint.. Not knocking the car at all. Or the owner for that matter. Mark is very well respected and I appreciate him (and his son) sharing the car with the world.

The decision to color coat was based specifically on the idea of how to maximize the ability to share the car with the world- while preserving the presentation of the car and the originality sufficient to be accepted to world class prestigious events.

Here is the car at Amelia Island.

I agree. Would like to have seen the car pre resto. I like em a bit dirty.

70 copo 12-07-2022 05:10 PM

Looked just like it does now except for a couple of minor scuffs, and original paint that was tired and finished.

The car was not restored.

The acceptance committees do not like em "dirty"

cook_dw 12-07-2022 05:31 PM

Do you have photos of it before it was "color coated"?

The L/88 was painted on the fender before color coating also?

I think both Marks would rather be doing this...This is Jr behind the wheel here at SCR8.

I told Mark Jr. not to hit me :)
