Pontiac 400 exhaust manifold help
Figured I'd ask my question here.
Ok Im working on a 70 TA with a 400. It has these huge stock manifolds 3 bolts per side which blows my mind. I'm used to SBC with 6 per side. I bought the stock fel-pro metal gaskets which are real thin. It only solved my leak on passenger side. The driver side is leaking real bad on center port and back port. So today I pulled the driver side manifold off and it was real rusty from years of leaking by. So I put a straight edge across the face of manifolds and the center port is low. So it looks like it is warped some. I tried to true it up the best I could. Installed back into car and still leaking. I'm thinking a thicker gasket will solve my problem what has everyone used. |

Re: Pontiac 400 exhaust manifold help
Take them to any good machine shop and have them milled -- keep the original part(s) ... TAZ

Re: Pontiac 400 exhaust manifold help
