1969 Z28 WITH CROSSRAM AND JL8..EXCELLENT!!
1 Attachment(s)
The car is a real Z and Numbers Matching and has been discussed alot because of the ZZ stamping on the trim tag as of right now its the only Z to date with this on the trim tag (and the tag is original and never off the car) CRG cant seem to explain it but, so far it is 1 of 1 not that makes it worth more (because no ones seems to know what it means) but it is kind of neat..
The resto was done at Hatfields in Texas and Finished up by Coast to Coast Camaro, There is over 1500 hours in the resto, The car is very very nice. It has a factory GM JL8 rear end, Tilt, Endura Bumper, Console with gauges, 5 speaker Am/Fm Stereo, Original rosewood wheel (perfect), Factory GM Xram with dated coded factory original carbs (both Sept 1, 1968) All Date Coded Glass, 5 original correct YH wheels all dated 12/18/68, Correct original 4 clip trim rings, Brand New GoodYear Wide Tread GT's (real made in the US ones), GM spiral shocks, Original 837 alternator dated 12/18/68 along with original RARE #7708 Harmonic Balancer, 772 Fan dated Nov. 68 with correct eaton clutch, correct and original radiator with tag, original GM seatbelts all dated late 68', original T-3 headlights, All original and pulleys with part numbers, 9204 brake booster dated 316th day of 68' , correct 309 master cylinder and original cap, pefect endura bumper with correct brakets and hardware, GM NOS rear bumper, Correct 403 bellhousing, starter, shifter, four leaf springs etc etc.. If you really want to get into detail the car has its original GM radiator cap, correct GM NOS motor mounts and its original bolts. The car is correct and a REAL Z and not a restamped car. I have recipts on the resto and picture through out. The car is show quality through out. VIN: 124379N580022 Cowl Tag info: ST6912437 NOR222631BDY TR711 52 B PNT 01B ZZ X33 Engine assy date: V1220DZ Engine VIN 19N580022 Engine block number: 3932386 Engine block date L 12 8 Transmission date P9T18C Rear Axle Code: QY 1010G1 Im asking $98,500 for the car..You could not begin to do a quality resotartion let alone find all the NOS date coded parts for that. Thought Id offer it here before I try other sources. Thanks for the post SYC. 507-208-0191 Andy https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

Re: 1969 Z28 WITH CROSSRAM AND JL8..EXCELLENT!!
The hours on the resto are correct..That is between the 2 spots.. Hatfields and Coast to Coast If you saw the car in person I believe that would justify the resto, No Screw, Bolt, Nut was left unturned.. Very Detailed and Correct.
Im sure some of those resto hours where also used in tracking down parts etc.. but I reciepts on it. |
Re: 1969 Z28 WITH CROSSRAM AND JL8..EXCELLENT!!
Wasn't this the car on ebay with a dealer JL8 rear and a flowmaster exhaust system?
I remember the auction with a similar description and seemingly flakey identification of the rear... What paper do you have with the car? |

Re: 1969 Z28 WITH CROSSRAM AND JL8..EXCELLENT!!
Dont know if the car was ever on Ebay.. Richard said the rear end is suppose to be an actual JL8 rear that came on a car from the factory. Not a dealer rear end. How can you tell the differance?
This car is a real Z and numbers matching, but the rear and xram were added. The rear is dated just a little after the car. The Xram and just about everything else is dated correct for the car. NO PAPERS ON THE CAR, I do have Owner History, Selling Dealer etc.. Just a stand up high quality car with lots of neat rare parts. Thanks |
Re: 1969 Z28 WITH CROSSRAM AND JL8..EXCELLENT!!
ive heard that an original rear will have tapered axel tubes at the backing plate area, check it out and see.

Re: 1969 Z28 WITH CROSSRAM AND JL8..EXCELLENT!!
Nope this is the car I am thinking of. I did not think the JL8 rear was original to this car. Excuse me, I did not mean to imply the rear was a dealership peice, I meant to say it was a dealership installed item... aka not original from the factory -- to the car.
I remember the ebay auction correctly. Matter of fact, members of this website bid on the car when it was on ebay. It did not have any paperwork in the auction either but they said the owner history on the car was really neat. Good luck in the sale! |

[/ QUOTE ] The car is awesome, I was just kidding about the hours, I know how long it takes to restore theses things, The 69 Z/28 im having restored will not have all 100% matching parts and I really dont care as im going day 2 with it and with the price of parts and the time it takes to find them is one of the main reasons im staying with the day 2..If my car was an original owner JL8 in need of restoration I would pucker up and go the distance...(Hey Rich, if your reading this you can stop drooling now, the new car wont need updating for a while https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif) |
