Fan Belt for 1970 Nova Deuce
 

I am trying to find out the correct fan belt for my 70 Deuce. The only thing it runs is the alternator, water pump and smog pump. Can someone tell me the correct length and possibly the correct GM code for this belt. Many thanks

Alan - that is where I bought both of my fan belts; one for the stock set with smog pump & the one for the day-two with no stinkin smog pump:

Many thanks for the picture. It looks like your tension bolt is right in the perfect place. Can you tell me the length and GM part number of the belt that you use with the smog pump?
Too bad that Yenko had to put those wheezers on the cars so they could sell them in California. All they do is hog horsepower and help to burn valves. But I guess it was what they thought would keep the smoggies in CA happy.

All 1970 Nova LT-1 or Camaro Z/28 Fan/Alt.belt w/A.I.R #3883248.Measures out @ 3/8 X 47".Later on superseded by belt #9433746 during sometime after 1973.

Ask them to please measure the belt before they ship it to you,to be sure you're getting the right one.
The more common V8 smallblocks WITHOUT A.I.R.,used belt #3953786 that was 3/8 X 44" long.

Thanks for the advice on that. I know sometimes, they are too quick to pick the first thing they see instead of what you tell them when the car does have the good old smog pump.

Excellent advice - many of us have received the wrong belt on the first try....

Yep - still have it, can't believe it's been 15 years already! Although, I have to admit that it spends 99% of it's time in the garage - especially now that we are racing a Jr Dragster. Go-Go-Gobi Beige Yenko Deuce is not going anywhere, just biding it's time. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif[/img]
