My 2 cents.......worked for Goodyear (retail & wholesale) from '71-'73. The Goodyear Polyglas was largely promoted for it's mileage enhancements. We began to sell some Polyglas as it made its entry but they were an expensive tire for those days as was Firestone's version.....they were both always hard to keep balanced and often "cupped". It was always a battle between the two with Goodyear having the edge. Didn't sell too many to muscle car owners as it was out of the budget for most and for that audience it was more about looks (RWL & size) not mileage. Once in awhile we would get some 60 series RWL Polyglas and we'd all asked what the heck do you put these on? Would get some blems once in awhile and they were less $$ and would usually go fast. Don't remember them ever being an OE tire.

Then the Michelin radial tire entered the war (via Sears primarily) and handling and comfort seized many higher end buyers. Polyglas and its brothers soon began the trend downward.

Having owned a new 1969 Corvette that had the nylon cord tires I remember trying the polyglas and they rode much harder than the nylon cord I did not like them it felt like you had 40lbs of air in the tires

"OLE BLUE' is a Feb 69 Baltimore car.
AND it came with Firestones.

Friend suggested using the 68 dated one on her spare wheel and calling it a Goodyear car.
NOT happening here.
The other 3 are newer than car anyway.

Anybody have any NOS 69 Firestones?

Seems
"000", "001" and "002' are normal prefixes on these 66- 70 tires.

Typo but second LETTER "L" seems to be 1969.
Makes sense on these 2 tires.

3rd week Feb Baltimore car.
All 5 wheels are 1 6 9 dated.

Second and third pics are the spare in a late Baltimore Malibu.

Looks like we are looking for "000" prefix Firestones with last letter "L".
Last letter "C" would be possible also.
