Tonawanda built 182 ZL-1 engines; 71 were used in production. There were just under 600 blocks cast; highest machining # I am aware of is 505 so scrap looks to be about 14%....

Mark just now sent me this pic of the tire pressure sticker on his 68 L78 Nova. He doesn’t get this car out to often but says it’s a real L78 car. It has a CE block in it. White with black vinyl top...

Rex, they were probably for Grand Sport Corvette, Chaparral, or simply for development/experimentation. I guess Indy is another possibility since Smokey did try a "stock block" Chevy there.

#9 sold at B-J AZ 2012 $451k....
