Heartbeat City has a very complete kit to rebuild them , IF all the parts are in stock. I've rebuilt a number of them with that kit, including '66 Chevelle, which still used the cast hinges....

The slider strut is what your MB should have.
This strut was first introduced around Nov. 1965.
