Default Don Robertson

I don't even know if anyone on this site knew Don but I was told he has passed away. I met Don probably 35 years ago thru Camaro collecting. He was all over the country finding cars. He would buy a COPO project and store it in various places he rented or borrowed across the country. He was also a lover of Wolves. I don't think he ever restored a car, just loved hunting them down. A nickname for him was dimeless Don as he never really had money but always managed to get that car bought. I'm sure most of his project cars are still out there in different parts of the country in barns, garages etc. He marched to a different drummer but was a good guy. Rest in Peace with the Wolves Don.

Thank you for letting us know, Charley. There are all different types of collectors, and it sounds like Don may have saved a few cars.

I hadn't spoken to him in years. Yes he had cars stuffed all over the country. RIP Don......

Sad to hear he passed.
Sad to hear he probably left them abandoned, BUT, there can be a whole new cable show about people rediscovering them as barn finds.

Don was a unique person for sure. I have spoken to his brother and they have problems with titles and locating cars right now. Don did not put many cars in his name. I could see Don not caring about that situation of cars and parts. I met him in 1984 when he had a cell phone so big that he put it in a phone bag. Lol His family have a lot of work ahead of them with parts and cars stashed everywhere.
