Cool that the kids are getting involved. I was doing the same with my Dad at that age. I've got a tip though.... get your son to wear a respirator when handling that HVLP gun!

I didn't worry about such things when I was a kid either, and I suffered no ill effects. I still do skip the safety equipment most times if it's just a quick rattle can paint job or something even though I know it's wrong (just lazy, I guess).

It's not a bad idea to get them into the mindset of using proper safety gear early on. Hopefully that was just a staged photo and he wasn't spraying.

Keeping these boys busy!

Benjamin torquing the flywheel and pressure plate:

Came back a week later to load it in:

Jack-Man!

Mocked up the dual quad intake, more 'show' than 'go'! Both boys really liked the height....

The cold temps are now here, so we'll have to make progress from home garage where it's a little warmer!

Well, we decided to put a 4 speed transmission into Danny's '67 Camaro RS, and the trans we had already put into Ben's Nova was actually the correct case for a '67. So....we got a 660 box rebuilt by Jody's Transmissions here in PA (highly recommend!!) and then swapped them out this past Sunday afternoon. I thought it would be a good experience for Ben to see how most transmissions are changed - laying on your back, under a car, no headroom or arm room, muscling things around - cursin and swearin while thinking why am I doing this!!! It went way too easy btw, we were done in 2 hours.

If anyone knows what the VIN decodes as, and knows the original car.... Not that we want to take it back out, but if the box belongs to a rare car....

Cool! Did he learn any new swear words? I tend to string a few of them together for better effect. Could send a note to him if he needs help. :-)

Thanks, but he learns enough 'words' on the school bus! Now he curses in German so I don't know what he's saying, he learned them in his AP literature class where they had to read some book....smart kids

Nice job on the tranny...looks great.

I believe the "2" designates Pontiac...and if the letter codes work like Chevy, the "B" stands for the Baltimore assembly plant. Of course, I don't know exactly what Pontiac models were produced there, most likely the GTO/Lemans.

Again, first rate looking unit!

Yea, Jody does really nice work, and certainly knows his stuff! He did the rear in Benjamin's Nova as well, and will likely do the rear in Danny's Camaro since I'll probably swap out the mono leaf open for a multi leaf posi....where do I stop??
