This gorgeous 2002 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Custom has 16,875 original miles and is loaded with upgrades including a SHM built 4.6L Supercharged V8 pushing almost 600HP. As the clean Car Fax report documents, this is a two owner vehicle that was with the second owner for 18 years. In 2002, a total of 142,747 Mustangs were built of which 17,717 (12.41%) were GT Convertibles. Of the 142,747 Mustangs built only 11,896 were painted True Blue which is a very desirable color. This Mustang was ordered with a Black convertible top and Medium Graphite leather interior. This Mustang was purchased by the second owner on February 24th, 2003 with 7,387 miles. The second owners name was Jim and he lives in Ohio. In early 2004, Jim decided to take his Mustang to the next level in both appearance and performance. He invested almost as much as he spent on the entire car but it was well worth it. Over the next 18 years he only drove it an average of 500 miles per year in nice weather conditions. It has always been treated with care, maintained and garaged. Jim decided to sell the car and MS CLASSIC CARS purchased it on November 22nd, 2021. The Car Fax report, original owner’s manuals, two key remotes, copy of CPO window sticker, copy of dyno sheet, miscellaneous receipts and items are included.

The exterior of this Mustang is in absolutely spectacular condition especially considering its 20 years old. Yes, this Pony Car is officially a classic! The car sports its original factory True Blue paint which is a stunning color. The paint was tested by MS CLASSIC CARS with an electronic paint meter and passed as all original throughout. The paint was recently detailed to a show quality shine. The paint is ocean deep and truly looks like a newer car. The True Blue color is complemented with a black vinyl top that is powered operated. The condition of the top also truly looks like a new car. The top fits tight and has no permanent wrinkles or tears. The original convertible top boot is still in the factory plastic and included. The custom features include a matte black front chin spoiler, Roush side skirts with exhaust cut outs and rear valances. The car sits on brand new 18” OE Racing FR500 wheels that give it a killer stance. The wheels are wrapped with brand new Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires that are 265-35-18 on the front and 295-35-18 on the rear. MS CLASSIC CARS added the new chin spoiler, wheels and tires.

The interior of this Mustang is also in absolutely spectacular condition especially considering its 20 years old. It actually still smells new! The Medium Graphite color really works well with the exterior color. The leather sport bucket seats are very comfortable and show hardly any wear. Some of the factory standard equipment includes keyless remote entry, power locks, power mirrors, power windows, power driver’s seat, tilt steering column, rear window defroster, center console with cup holders and storage compartment. The custom features include a third brake light bar, Autometer Cobalt fuel pressure and boost gauge. The trunk compartment is very clean and houses the aluminum battery box. A new battery was added by MS CLASSIC CARS.

The engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout with many custom features throughout. The car is powered by a Sean Hyland Motorsport (SHM) 4.6L Supercharged V8 with almost 600HP. Rather than Supercharging the original factory 4.6L V8 engine and causing possible damage, it was removed and replaced with a new 4.6L engine that was built to handle the Supercharger. The new engine was a 300 stroker short block with Stage 1 two valve cams. The new engine was ordered and shipped in 2004. Once it was received the following items were added: CNC ported aluminum heads, Reichard Racing aluminum intake, BBK valve covers, CPR fuel rails and Pro Charger D-1SC with 3-core intercooler. It’s also equipped with a Snow Performance boost cooler with methanol injection. The engine runs and sounds awesome. It breathes through shorty ceramic headers and Roush side exhaust system. The engine is coupled to a built 4R70 automatic overdrive transmission with 2800 Hughes stall converter. The power is transferred to the factory 8.8” POSI rear end with upgraded 3.73 Precision gears. The dyno sheet reflects 500 horsepower at the real wheels which is roughly 600 horsepower at the flywheel.

The undercarriage is also nicely detailed throughout. It still retains the factory original paint marks and stickers. The floors are finished in the factory original gray primer. It’s equipped with a Roush lowering kit and factory four wheel disc brakes.

Thank you, we agree! The FR500s are one of the better-looking Ford wheels for this generation.

Most of the "New Edge" body style Mustang GTs haven't lived an easy life. Now that they're roughly two-decades old, to see one of this condition with quality modifications is refreshing.
