Default Opinions/thoughts on 1980 Corvette

I'm trying to help a neighbor put a value on his Corvette.

I've never seen it and it's in another town, all I know is what he told me last night.

His Family home will be going through an estate sale and his old Vette is sitting there in the garage for about 25 years, it was a running driving car when parked.

1980 White/Blue interior Automatic he thinks base engine (L48)
I assume A/C and all the standard stuff, only thing he said was he had changed the wheels years back to unknown???? I believe he said 68,000 miles.

I know this is nothing to really go on but what $ can he put on it as a non running car that we all know will need all the fluids/ maybe lines etc... replaced to get it going again.
I'm going to see if he can atleast get me some pictures from then and now but don't have either at this point.

Thanks in Advance
Ron

My guess solely based on your narrative: Between $3000 and $5000

I follow late C3's a little online just because I really like that bodystyle and my wife wants one, and I've seen them all over the board depending on condition. If you get more pics, that would help a lot because a lot can happen in 25 years depending on how well it was stored.

Assuming its in good shape and just been sitting... about $4,000-$5,000. Running.. driving cleaned up and nicely preserved.. $10,000-$12,000. Later C-3's don't carry a lot of value.

OK i understand all that has been said and will see if I can get any pictures,
For anyone local that won't club my neighbor and desires this type of car it's in Central Jersey. I'd rather it go to a car guy from here than some flipper type.

OK here are some pictures taken today of the car, I found out it was painted before my neighbor's ownership and the paint is flaking. From what I understand there will be an Estate sale this coming weekend and I guess the planner will be trying to sell this car along with home contents. I appreciate any and all help so far.
Oh I updated the mileage in my original post from 68,000 to 64,000 sorry I was mistaken earlier.

I'd say that depending on the condition of the bird cage (amount of rust), that the $3000 to $5000 range is probably pretty accurate.

$3500 due to the paint issues.

I own virtually the same car, a white ‘80 auto with blue guts. Mine is an original CA version though, meaning it came with the CA-specific 305 (but it has a 350 in it now). That being said, I really, really like the design changes introduced to the C3s in 1980. After I neglected it for over a decade I recently spent about $6K getting it roadworthy again, with my teenage daughter’s help, and now she drives it to high school every day. Dare I say it’s the coolest car on her campus. While I agree with everyone’s valuations, it’s hard to get something this cool for this cheap.

From your picture the paint looks pretty good and you have the original wheels!! I too believe they are a very nice looking car and happy for your Daughter to make her mark with it!!!
