Default B-17 Assembly line 1944

The G's were being built here in this neat color 16MM. I am sure the sound was added but it is cool none the less. If the sound is real - then these workers had damaged hearing later in life.

I guarantee they had damaged hearing regardless.

Having built pickup trucks totaling multiple millions at a rate of one completed vehicle per minute, and low volume "show" vehicles (total volume of 10 for life of the vehicle), I would love LOVE to know how they structured the workload, process documentation, installation instructions, inventory control, quality control, inspection, etc for a product as complex as a B-17.

Maybe I should go intern at Boeing for a summer (lol at the idea of a 60 yr old intern).

Sunday, they had some warbirds at Bergstrom Airport and a B17 flew over our house all day giving rides. It sounded wonderful.
