Looking for thoughts/opinions on the Yukon brand ring and pinion.

Thanks,

Generally considered inferior to higher end brands like Strange, Eaton, Detroit and Auburn. I stick to the higher quality gearsets and have been told in the past to avoid Richmond and Yukon as they are softer gearsets.

Thank you.

Is it correct that none of them are made in the USA anymore?

I used a lot of them when I was in business and never had a problem with any of them.

I owned a rear end shop for 15 years and I was a Yukon dealer. That was when Randy still owned the place. It's been sold now to a larger company. I closed my business in 2012 and haven't dealt with them much since then. Back then they were mostly just reboxing other brands. Most of it was good stuff. Back then I preferred US Gear over all of the others. I don't know if US Gear is still in business now. Motive had two different lines of gears. One was top quality and the other was their bargain brand. I couldn't tell you who makes good quality gears 100% of the time anymore. I don't think any of them are made hear in the US now.

Moser sells US Gear products, claim they are still made in Chicago.

I've had a professionally installed Richmond 3:73 gearset and Eaton posi for many years. No issues whatsoever.
