cowl induction seal
I have a couple of nos cowl induction seals but they have both separated at the seam. So I bought a supposedly nos one that was still in tact from a guy but it has the tape on both sides of the seam of the seal. My nos ones just have the tape on the outside. Anyone ever seen a GM seal with tape all the way around the seam or is it for sure a reproduction? Also, did the born with seals have any black tape? Someone mentioned ribbed lines, are they on any of the seals? Thanks!

One of my biggest pet peeves.
Repro has been selling seals with tape on both sides for awhile now,and are easy to spot, while I've yet to see a real assembly line installed seal with it.Every old real seal I've ever had has partial tape on one side only. And some repro companies sell em with no tape at all, just glued @ the seam. Also the REAR decal they sell today is completely wrong in font & overall size, compared to the original. |

So many install these seals wrong, takes away from what might otherwise be a really decent car IMO.
