Default Original m/t scavenger headers

I have an original set of scavenger headers for 68-72 a body. I was gonna have them coated and was wondering if coating the inside was gonna change the great sound of the headers? Anyone out there have original headers and had them inside coated and did they change the sound? Jeff

They’re going on the 70 Monte that JasonL78 is restoring. 496/5 speed. I was gonna do them in the aluminum ceramic coating just to have some contrast with the orange block?

I think they look best in Orange if I say so myself. The ceramic coat is really cool and changes from Orange to Red when they get hot and then transitions back to orange as they cool. Very cool to watch it happen. These were coated inside out in Minneapolis and it did not affect the ping pong ball sound IMO.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. I was gonna ask if they were made by Bruce in Indiana but I saw that they were made by Nathan.

Yes...Nathan bought the dies from Bruce.

I just ordered another set of them and flat out dig his workmanship.

I might be selling these headers as they supposedly will not work with air conditioning. They are at the coater but have not specified what coating I’m gonna use. If anyone might want these let me know. Jeff
