Default Cheater Slick Advice

So I wanted to mount these to a set of Cragar 15 X 8’s I have. The dealer told me that the tires are 29 1/3” tall. Would they fit in the wheel wells of my stock height 68 GTO? Also for just cruising and a cool look I don’t need tubes right?

Your L60 M/T are 28 inches tall. Put one on and see how much clearance you have.

Is 29 1/3 actual or what's listed in the book. I have measured Coker L60's and N50's Pro Tracs with a tape measure and they are 1/2 to 3/4 inch less than listed in height and also in width from the websites.

I have them on a 1970 Nova they're tall but fit I'm sure they'd fit your 68 GTO they have big wheelwells like the Chevelle. PM me a cell number and I'll shoot you a picture.

I have the 7” wide versions of these 29 1/4” tall cheater slicks installed on my Chevelle (A body like your GTO) with a ?similar? rear wheel well. They fit height and width wise but aren’t as wide as the 9” versions you are looking at. I do have air shocks but don’t need them for clearance. No tubes required for cruising.

Thanks guys. The tires are recommended for 7” rims. Does anyone think it would be an issue to mount them on 8” rims?
