Default Unrestored 1955 Nomad w/10,957 Original Miles

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own an all original 1955 Nomad with just under 11K original miles still wearing its original U.S. Royal tires, 265 cu. in., 2 bbl, not many options, it never had a radio. This is coming out of the collection from the gentleman who owned the 6,289 mile 70 Chevelle L34 that sold earlier this week. Attached is a photo of the Nomad back in the 70's when it was last shown at the Nomad Convention. It was previously owned 47 years by an owner in Pittsburgh, you can read the article with more history. Update, below are the articles in the 1st photo.

Here is some history on the Nomad, it was ordered new in Wilkinsburg, PA by a plumber, to be used as a 2nd car for his wife, 2 yrs later, a violent argument ensued over the wife's driving habits. She was so outraged that she refused to drive it, hiding the keys and the title. The husband wanted to sell the Nomad but could never find the title. Upon his death in 1968, the wife sold the "55 to a neighbor, who happened to be a used car salesman. He had his mechanic go completely through the car, rebuilding the wheel cylinders, transmission seals, new carb kit, and detailed throughout. All this being done, an ad was placed in the local newspaper.
Gary Delucia age 18, a college student, had been looking for a "55 Nomad to rebuild for a number of years and had never found one that he could afford or was worth rebuilding. In PA rust isa prominent feature, especially on a wagon most people buy from new.
In Jan 1969, Gary was out of college & was working as a test engineer for a public utility firm & was looking harder than ever for that Nomad. He saw the ad & called immediately, the car lot was only 1 1/2 miles from his home & he was there first. In a letter received Feb 6th, Gary says he now has 10,100 miles on the odometer, (I believe this was 1977 when the article was in the 1977 issue of Chevroland Nues. Gary hated to break that 10,000 mile barrier but what's the use of having a Nomad if you do not drive it. Gary & his wife are expecting their 1st child in July & hope to attend the August Convention in Memphis.
Chevroland Nues 1997 Issue: Since this is our "1955 Issue" we are also featuring another "SUPER RARE" 1955 Chevrolet Nomad that is owned by Gary Delucia of Pittsburgh, PA with only 11,000 original miles on the odometer, the car is completely original including the original U.S. Royal tires. Gary purchased the Nomad 8 years earlier in 1969 w/5600 original miles from a used car lot which got it from the little old lady. The Nomad had been stored from 1957 to 1968 in a heated garage due to a family dispute. The Nomad had the original U. S. Royals, radiator hoses, paper over the inside sun visor & still even smelled like a brand new car.
According to Gary, the most difficult part of owning this Nomad is resisting the temptation to drive it everywhere, so he is looking for another Nomad now to drive to shows & meets. He wants to keep the "CHUBBY CHECKER", as his friends call the Nomad, since it resembles a yellow Checker Cab, for Nomad meets & special events only. His wife has a fit every time he drives it around the block, and only a divorce would allow him to part with the Nomad.

Nomads have the "it" factor with timeless design. The car looks amazingly preserved. Just love this Nomad!!!!
