Best 1967, correct appearing, rear antenna kit/assembly
I was drilling holes in my nos rear quarter for the wheel trim and recalled I want a rear antenna, which will, obviously, require another hole. Looking for suggestions on experience with replacements that are quality made and correct appearing.
I've looked at the Retro sound and HBC's sets. I have bought a "few" items from HBC that are proclaimed OEM and/or assembly line correct and been sorely disappointed that they are not. At the cost of the HBC unit, I am hesitant to go that route without others with experience offering their thoughts on it. Same for the Retro Sound unit, or any other brands you guys have used. Thanks SYC

Mitch, for now my suggestion would be to buy a template as seen in this ebay auction https://www.ebay.com/itm/37571813138...Bk9SR5Sw0Z_gZA
...and then keep my eyes peeled for an NOS GM rear antenna kit, which I don't think is an impossible find. Of course, the rear antenna option is coded on the cowl tag so maybe using original stuff is not critical but I like to use NOS stuff when I can and it's within reason. Just my 2 cents. |

I'm with ya on both issues, Jon. I had planned to get a template, but NOS will, most likely, be out of the budget.
If I was retaining the original front fender, I would just stay with the front antenna, but I have an NOS fender too, so either way I have to "screw up my courage" as the Brits like to say, and drill a big hole in one or the other and I prefer the appearance of the rear antenna. No plan to add a spoiler as long as it's in my possession...

Rear Antenna
Just as info which you may already know. No vehicles in 67 with AM/FM came with a rear antenna. If AM/FM you could only get a front antenna. Rear antenna was an option for AM radio only, assuming you are restoring to stock. If resto-mod please ignore
