Love this poster! I've had "Flight 427" hanging on my shop wall for decades. My '66 427 is undergoing her resto now. I'm very happy that she's an earlier '66 model built December 1st, 1965. Her M21 close ratio shifter mounts directly to the transmission tailshaft housing. Later shifters that year were mounted to a bracket on the frame.
There's nothing I enjoy more than the feel of the engine vibration in my hand as I'm bangin' gears down the road! My '65 327 has that same feel. What a rush! Check out this original shift pattern plate for all '63-'67 4-speed Vettes. Just grabbed this one on-line. Might just find it's way onto my '66 shift console! Thanks Bill S.
