Is there a calibration procedure for the fuel gauge on a 1969 Camaro with the standard dash fuel gauge? No tach. Thank you, Joe

Yes, I use a potentiometer placed in series where the fuel sender would go.
Vary the resistance and look for corresponding indication at the dash (or console) gage.

0 ohms = empty
45 ohms = 1/2 tank
90 ohms = Full tank

I made a handy device that can be operated when sitting in the driver seat.

Large photos,,, you get the idea.

I can Mail you the tester "IF" needed

That's a pretty handy device there. Never seen one of those before.

^^Home Made from Parts from my Local Radio Shack. The Leads are connectorized and long enough so you can sit in your car seat and dial it up and watch the gage indication. It basically takes the place of the sender rheostat/variable resistor. Comes in handy to troubleshoot the circuit in car or on bench. The real rub comes in the form of an accurate "Tank Curve" I 'calibrated it to basic fallible assumption of a liner correlation of ohms to gals. Close enough for our course indicating fuel gages. I should have made a hundred of these and marketed them, sigh.
