Based on your story and the fact that the car is in Illinois , odds are that this is the car. So TM rear end code is 3.42 W-30 or can be 442 4 speed, but not a W27 aluminum rear and the diff cover is a reproduction. Were there some remnants of the nugget good paint?

Too bad there are no docs, but a broadcast card could still be in the car. Most likely place is under the bottom back seat cushion, but there are other areas to look if not there.

Original carb, intake, distributor, alternator and master cylinder and other misc items will cost a bunch to source. Very Kool find.
