Default Seatbelt date to build date

Is it common to have a sept 69 build date with a jan 69 seatbelt date?

Deluxe & standard belts might make some differences as well as Norwood or LA. Color might make a difference also. My Aug 28th of 1969 Norwood car has deluxe dated B & C. Just an example....Joe

Deluxe Blue could without a doubt be that far apart.

For example... 1969 Chevelle All plants All models - less than 1000 units in all color deluxe belts with well over 400,000 cars built.
Dlx in Blue Green Red and Black - with most units being Black -even parchment got black belts.

My original belts from a Norwood Sept. 69 build are 36-A-69 and 37-A-69.

If January dated black standard seat belts were in a September built car it would be HIGHLY suspect as the cycling time would be quick, given the numbers - there were probably 200,000+ cars built with black std seatbelts.

Blue dlx Chevelle belts, total units may have been 200-300 total.
Cycling through them would have been at best infrequent.

Not likely in a 69 Camaro, but plants varied.
Camaro deluxe belts were only 10% of production, and as James noted, the colors were even lower production.
The data I have shows the they shipped small batches as needed - and they could be sitting for up to 3 months between batches.

My understanding of belt date codes is the 1st two numbers represent the week of the year. So my belts would have a date of the 36th and 37th week of 1969, which would put them in September about 3 weeks before build of the car. All my sheetmetal was stamped the 37th or 38th week of 69.

Thanks for posting that. I had the info wrong. Here's a link http://www.camaros.org/seatbelt.shtml
