Default MCACN '15 Photos by mrays

I would first like to thank Bob and all the guys who put on this awesome show. This is my favorite car event of the year! I drove in from Indiana on Saturday morning and luckily it was still warm enough that the snow was melting when it hit the pavement. I was at the show from 9 to 9 on Saturday and 9 to 5 on Sunday and still could have spent more time looking at everything. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza and it was a 10 minute walk from my room to the show entrance. When it comes to photography I'm more of a quality than quantity guy so here are my favorites from the show.

I will start with the Hemi convertible E-Body display. It was awesome to see so many of these cars in one place.

There were 13 of the 18 Hemi Cuda convertibles from 1970 present.

T. Thurling's EW1 Alpine White car has a TorqueFlite and was originally sold in OH. It was a tubbed and caged racecar with a supercharged Hemi before it was restored. It was missing it's fender tag and there were no build sheets found so it was restored with a white interior. Galen G. later found the original dealer invoice at the selling dealer and it was determined the car originally came with a black interior.

The Brothers Collection EW1 Alpine car has a TorqueFlite and 3.55 gears and is a 20K mile car that was formerly owned by T. Lembeck.

P. Klutt's FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow car has a TorqueFlite and 3.55 gears and was originally sold in Canada.

Mecum's FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow car has a 4 speed and 4.10 gears and was also originally sold in Canada. This car is advertised as having it's original engine.

The Brothers Collection EK2 Vitamin C car has a TorqueFlite and 4.10 gears and is a numbers matching car. This car was restored in the late 90's and featured in the June 1999 issue of Mopar Muscle.

The Brothers Collection FE5 Rallye Red car has a TorqueFlite and 4.10 gears and was a magazine test car when new. This car was originally restored in the late 80's and was featured in the August 1989 issue of Guide to Muscle Cars.

D. Blake's FE5 Rallye Red car has a TorqueFlite and 4.10 gears and is the only one with the shift lever on the column. This is a numbers matching car that he purchased in the early 80's.

W. Ogle's FC7 In-Violet car has a 4 speed and is a numbers matching car that was sold at Baxter Chrysler Plymouth in Omaha NE. It had a custom 70's silver and purple metal flake with flames paint job before it was restored. This car was featured in the August 2011 issue of Musclecar Review.

D. Blake's FC7 In-Violet car has a 4 speed and 4.10 gears and still has it's original engine and rearend. It is freshly restored and was unveiled at the show.

T. Behrens' TX9 Black Velvet car has a 4 speed and is unrestored. It was found in the classifieds in the 80's.

D. Blake's TX9 Black Velvet car has a 4 speed and 4.10 gears. This is an unrestored car that he purchased in 1980 and has been reunited with it's original engine.

The Brothers Collection TX9 Black Velvet car has a TorqueFlite and 4.10 gears. It was originally ordered by J. Herlitz who was a Chrysler executive. This car was purchased at the recent Mecum auction in Monterey.

P. Silva's TX9 Black Velvet car has a TorqueFlite and 4.10 gears and was sold at Kelly Chrysler Plymouth in Marietta GA. It was raced extensively in the 70's and driven by Steve Bagwell among others. It was featured in the October 2012 issue of Mopar Collectors Guide.

There were 6 of the 12 Hemi Challenger R/T convertibles from 1970 present.

Mecum's FJ5 Sublime car has a TorqueFlite and 3.55 gears. It is a numbers matching car and was featured in the June 1999 issue of Mopar Muscle.

W. Ogle's FJ5 Sublime car has a 4 speed and was sold new in Nova Scotia. The original engine is gone but it does have it's original transmission. The Shaker and Go Wing were added when the car was restored. I believe the only Hemi Challenger convertible to originally come with a Shaker is the Diamante Show Car.

The Brothers Collection EF8 Dark Green car has a TorqueFlite and 3.55 gears and was sold new at Jackson Chrysler Plymouth in Poplar Bluff MO. It still retains it's original engine.

The Brothers Collection FC7 Plum Crazy car has a 4 speed and 3.54 gears. It was previously owned by D. Christenholz and was featured in the Million Dollar Muscle Cars book.

G. Nelson's FC7 Plum Crazy car has a 4 speed and 4.10 gears. It was shipped to Sweden in 1976 and eventually returned to the U.S. It was featured in several magazines in 1990 when M. Robson owned it. At that time it had white stripes.

D. Blake's FC7 Plum Crazy car has a 4 speed and 3.54 gears and was sold new at Provost in Miles City MT. He has owned it since 1979.

There were 8 of the 12 Hemi Cuda convertibles produced in 1971 present.

Mecum's GW3 Sno-White car has a TorqueFlite and 3.55 gears with a column shifter.

The Brothers Collection GW3 Sno-White car has a TorqueFlite and 3.23 gears. This car was originally exported to France and I believe this is the only one produced with the black Billboard stripes. This is the last Hemi Cuda convertible that was produced.

The Brothers Collection FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow car has a TorqueFlite and was sold new in Milwaukee WI. Former owners of this car include S. Siegel, O. Chandler, K. Suydam and D. Christenholz. This car has been featured in numerous books and magazines.

D. Blake's EV2 Tor Red car has a TorqueFlite and 4.10 gears. It was sold new at Centennial in Barrie Ontario. It was the only car to come with white Billboard stripes.

T. Lembeck's FE5 Rallye Red car has a TorqueFlite. I believe this car was owned by Bill Drake back in the late 80's and was featured in several magazines. At that time it had black Billboard stripes.

W. Ogle's FE5 Rallye Red car has a TorqueFlite and 4.10 gears and was sold at Bill Luke in Phoenix AZ. It still has it's original engine. The black Billboard stripes, road lamps and painted mirrors were added when the car was restored.

The Brothers Collection GB5 True Blue car has a 4 speed and 4.10 gears. It is an ex race car that was owned by M. Robson at one time. This is not the same car that G. Nelson had at MCACN last year.

T. Lembeck's GA4 Winchester Grey car has a 4 speed and 3.54 gears. This car was originally exported to France and purchased by J. Teyssier.

Here are a few cars from the Mecum display. I believe these cars are all from the B. Torino collection and W. Schmeekle collection.

This 69 Trans Am convertible is a 4 speed car and the only one that came with a 217 Parchment interior. It was ordered new by Tom Goad who was a Pontiac engineer. It was eventually sold through Arnold Pontiac in Houston PA.

This 69 Camaro ZL-1 is the #18 car and was sold new at Tamson Chevrolet in Danville VA. It is one of the few that still has it's original engine. I saw this car sell at the Mecum auction in Chicago in 2005 for $800K.

This 71 Hemi Cuda is a numbers matching 4 speed car with 3.54 gears. It has 59K original miles and is an unrestored car that is documented with 2 broadcast sheets.

This 70 Challenger R/T convertible is a numbers matching car with a 4 speed and 3.54 gears. It was built on the first day of production and is thought to be the first Six Pack Challenger convertible produced.

This 70 Cuda convertible is a 4 speed car and is an original N96 Shaker hood car with the V68 stripe delete. It was also built on the first day of production and is thought to be the first Six Pack Cuda convertible produced since the VIN is 100004.

This 70 Nova Yenko Deuce is a 4 speed car that was sold new and Dale Chevrolet in Waukesha WI. It is advertised as having it's original engine and rearend.

This 68 Camaro RS/SS Baldwin Motion Phase III is the only such car in Corvette Bronze. It is an unrestored car with 4K miles that was purchased new by L. Renner. He owned the car when it was displayed at MCACN in 2011. This car was equipped with an L88 backed by an M22 and has 4.56 gears. It ran 11.20's back in the day.

This 69 Yenko Chevelle is an automatic car that was sold new at Grossman Chevrolet in Minneapolis MN. This is an unrestored car with 30K miles. It was once a part of the O. Chandler collection.

This 69 Yenko Camaro is a 4 speed car that was sold new at Jack Douglass Chevrolet in Hinsdale IL. It still retains it's original engine and rearend. The first 50 Yenko Camaro's were X66 cars and I believe this is currently the only known Rallye Green X66 Yenko Camaro.

Here are some cars from the Class of 1970 Display.

K. Moore's 70 Challenger RT SE is a numbers matching car with a 4 speed and is an original N96 Shaker hood car.

J. Moosbichler's 70 Charger RT SE is a factory sunroof car with a TorqueFlite.

M. Davihroy's 70 442 W-30 convertible with an M21 was sold new at Yates in St. Louis MO. The reproduction window sticker listed the W27 rearend as an option on this car.

M. Mordarski's 70 Cuda AAR has a TorqueFlite and 3.91 gears.

S. Tedro's 70 Nova Yenko Deuce is a numbers matching 4 speed car with power steering and was sold new at S. Leman in Roanoke IL. On a side note, my grandmother lived there for years and I am quite familiar with the town.

S. Tedro's 70 Nova Yenko Deuce is a numbers matching automatic car with power steering and was sold new at Ammon R. Smith in York PA. This car is documented with a POP and was featured in Musclecar Review as a barn find several years ago.

L. Grimsley's 70 Cuda is a factory N96 Shaker hood car with a TorqueFlite.

K. Suydam's 1 of 100 Trans Am Javelin. I believe all of these cars had the 325 horse 390 backed by a T-10 4 speed.

T. Wellborn's 70 Hemi Cuda is a 4 speed car with 39K miles and is mostly unrestored with the exception of an older repaint. This is the first Hemi car he owned and he bought it back at the Mecum auction in Indianapolis this past May.
