Joe also owns the Bonneville show car.

He invited me to the Detroit area concours and insisted that I sit in the car for a photo.

While I was grateful for (and embarrassed by) his generosity, what he didn't know was that he financed my trip to see the unveiling of this little car:

The Tempest is the car that was found in a storage facility near here and sold on ebay in its unrestored condition for about $225,431.63, if memory serves.

I first got the shop tour at The Finishing Touch maybe 20 years ago. I remember being impressed with the intricate detail perfection of a completed set of Ferrari knock-off spinners. As recently as a year ago Mark and crew restored an anodized aluminum (crushed) molding for me that others said couldn't be fixed. - Bill W

How could she have possibly held on when that thing launched?

Almost half of that car body is behind the rear axle and most likely weighted to lift the front with little power needed. By the appearance of the background, the car is not going very fast. I'd be more concerned about it dropping back down too quickly and jarring her off.
