Default 1964 Chevy Impalla SS Vert

Hey Big car guys, I used to work with a Younger fella Whom is 'inheriting' his Fathers 1964 Impala SS 327 Bucket seat Convertible. His Dad bought the Car in 1969 and the vehicle has been dormant in a Dry Northern Calif indoor Garage since mids 80's. The question is two fold, Can you fellas recommend 1) A couple National Vendors for Parts sourcing & 2) A couple dedicated forums for him to join for research

I will reach out to him for a Neat Garage "FIND" photo for entertainment purposes.

Thanks in advance

Jim

Hello Jim, thanks for introducing me to the forum. I'm a first time user and looking forward to learning from guys like you. I'll post a few photos of the "garage find". As you already know, the car is in need of some tender love and care. My Dad bought it back in the day and used it as a daily driver. I remember playing in the Impala as a kid, turning the steering wheel and dreaming of driving. My Dad is really excited to restore the vehicle and I'm going to help fund the project. I'm in WA but he's in CA with the car. In fact, he just recently started working on the car. Thanks again, talk soon.

Great project and welcome to the site.
When I read the first couple lines I thought you inherited the car as a result of your Dad passing.
I am overjoyed that your Dad is still around and excited about the project.
Some of the fondest memories I have are with my Dad and I working on cars together.
Congrats!

Glad your Dad is going to do something with this car. It appears to be factory air too ? Did your parents live near a coast for some time ? That trunk lid has serious rust for a dry climate, BUT he is in an excellent location to find a clean, original, lid to replace it. If the door bottoms, fenders and hood are that affected too, I would be looking for clean, original, parts to replace.

Looking forward to the garage emptying and whole car "unveiling" episode...

Even though it is not a 409 car there are some very knowledgeable people over at the 348-409 forum that can help. I'd suggest starting there.

348-409 is a good forum.

Show-cars and cars inc. are a couple good places to get parts from for 58-64 Chevys.
